OUR MISSION   

The Orthodox Jewish Nurses Association seeks to provide a forum to discuss professional issues related to Orthodox Jewish nurses, arrange social and educational events, and to serve the special needs of its members.

OUR HISTORY   

The concept of an Orthodox Jewish nursing network began in 2008 when Rivka Pomerantz BSN, RN, IBCLC graduated from nursing school. Rivka felt the need for a forum to discuss issues specific to Orthodox Jewish nurses and began an online support group. With time and momentum building, the idea of annual nursing conferences took shape and was sponsored by various professional organizations. Over the years, networking events have taken place in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Florida. In 2017, with the support of previous board members L’via Weisinger, Goldie Burstein, and Linda Segel, OJNA became incorporated as a non-profit organization.

OUR MEMBERS   

Since our establishment in the Spring of 2017, we have grown to over 440 members, over 2,550 Facebook members, and have chapters and activities across the USA. OJNA members are from the USA, Canada, Israel, England, and beyond.

OUR FUTURE   

We strive to meet the needs of our members, promote professionalism and career advancement, and be a voice for Orthodox Jewish nurses across the world.

OJNA is an organizational affiliate of the American Nurses Association, the premier organization representing the interested of the nation’s 4 million registered nurses. ANA advances the nursing profession by fostering high standards of nursing practice, promoting a safe and ethical work environment, bolstering the health and wellness of nurses, and advocating on health care issues that affect nurses and the public.
